University of the 属维尔京群岛
- The University of the 属维尔京群岛 (UVI)was chartered on March 16, 1962, as the 大学 of the 属维尔京群岛 — a publicly funded, 男女合校的, liberal arts institution — by Act No. 852of the Fourth Legislature of the U.S. 属维尔京群岛. According to that law, UVI's cornerstone the objective is to provide for "...the stimulation and utilization of the intellectual resources of the people of the 属维尔京群岛 and the development of a center of higher learning whereby and wherefrom the benefits of culture and education may be extended throughout the 属维尔京群岛." UVI is a public liberal arts-based Masters II university, a Historically Black 大学 and University, and a Land-Grant institution. 今天, UVI has a combined enrollment of approximately 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students on its two campuses. It continues to offer high-quality, affordable liberal arts education and professional 项目 in a culturally diverse environment.
